The State of Delaware’s news webpage carried a story Wednesday stating that a DUI Checkpoint is planned for the vicinity of Newark, Delaware for this evening, September 6, 2013.

The news story also indicated that 11 arrests were made at DUI checkpoints in Delaware over Labor Day weekend. It would be interesting to know the ratio of drivers who have BAC’s of .08 or greater to those who don’t. For example, if we knew that 1 in a 1,000 had an elevated BAC, then we could calculate that police had to harass 11,000 people to make those 11 arrests. I wonder if any statistics of that sort are being kept?
