Checkpoint Strikeforce has scheduled two Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Checkpoints in Delaware this weekend.

There will be a DUI checkpoint in Christiana, Delaware on Friday, September 21, 2012.

There will also be a drunk driving checkpoint in Seaford, Delaware on Saturday, September 22, 2012.

In no way do we advocate drinking and driving on the roads of Delaware. However, we believe that these DUI checkpoints are really constitutionally questionable because they use a dragnet approach to identify possible lawbreakers. DUI Checkpoints stop and harass many innocent motorists and their passengers in order to find the very, very few who may actually be driving under the influence. That, one would think, would be (should be) a violation of the rights of the innocent motorists under the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
